Reduce Noise in Low Light Photography Using Photoshop CS5

Photo and digital images that shoot in low light condition is usually end up with lot of noises. Photoshop is one of the programs that capable to handle with those photography problems. What I will write down below is Photoshop tools that able to reduce noise with their own functions. These tools already exist in previous Photoshop version.

Despeckle

Despeckle is selected from Filter > Noise > Despeckle. There is no dialog box for this tool. You can see the result after you select it. This Photoshop filter is commonly use to reduce noise for scanned images, but actually Despeckle is also can be use for reducing noise in digital photo. Despeckle will automatically detect and show the most sharp boundaries in the images. This Photoshop tool will blur the other part of the photo to reduce noise, so it will perfect to bring up more smooth textures.

Dust and Scratches

This tool is selected from Filter > Noise > Dust & Scratches. Dust and Scratches is perfect tools to remove unwanted dot, dust, and small scratches lines for scanned images.

Dust-and-Scratches

This tools work by finding the most contrast pixel from its surrounding. Dust and Scratches is perfect to correct digital photo which taken in long exposure; that usually has bright pixels in random.
