In this Photoshop tutorial, we will remove blemish and acne from a photo. Photoshop has some tools to remove any spot from image. This spot removal is a most wanted for skin retouching effect. The tools are: Healing Brush, Spot Healing brush, Path Tools, and there are also Clone Stamp tool. Clone stamp tool can be use to remove any spot, but it is more like patching an image with another. I will simplify this effects tutorial into only one tool, the Spot Healing brush.
Step 1
Open your photo with Photoshop. This should be photo with blemish or acne on it.

Step 2
Select Spot Healing Brush tool.

Adjust the brush size for this face retouching process. You can use shortkey: [ and ]; or Shift+[ and Shift+]. More about changing brush available in this previously Photoshop tutorial.

The brush size should be just larger than the blemish or acne effect that you want to remove.
Step 3
Click and hold the mouse button for a while. Drag it over one acne spot, and then release it.

The acne, blemish, or any spot you click with spot Healing brush tools now is gone. Repeat this step to another imperfections spot, until you got all the unwanted spot disappear like in this blemish removals Photoshop tutorial.

The Spot Healing Brush generally removes blemishes and imperfections effects and makes the skin appear cleaner. This is because this Photoshop tool is not only patching the skin with its surrounding area, but also adjust the skin tone and texture. The Spot Healing Brush automatically samples the areas around the spot to be removed and blends the pixels so you do not need to specify the source sample for the effects. If you need to specify which are should be use as sample, you can alternatively use Healing Brush and Patch tool (if you use previously Photoshop version, you may not find Spot Healing Brush tool).
