Making Selection Using Channel in CS4

Step 4
Select Dodge tool, adjust the Range in to Highlight and lower opacity also. Stroke Dodge tool in the bright area, in the border of the sky and the ground/models.

Continue to stroke until all bright part of the border is complete.

Step 5
Select Brush tool, adjust the foreground and background color to black and white. Fill the sky area with white, and the other one with black.

We will use this black and white image as a layer mask.

Step 6
Invert the color by select Image > Adjustment > Invert. This is because we want to discard the sky and protect the other part. When we using mask, the white color area is the one that will appear (as selection), while the black color will be discarded.

Step 7
If you notice some part of the image aren’t complete yet, like this image tutorial below, stroke this area again with Brush tool.
