How To Transform Layer Size

Continuing previous Photoshop CS4 tutorial, now I write about how to change the layer size. Layer that can be change its size are the unlocked layers, means that you can do this with locked layer such as Background Layer. If you want to work with Background layers, you have to double click its layer name and select OK in the following dialog box. You will get unlocked layer, generally it is named Layer 0.

To transform a layer size, you can do this by pres Ctrl+T (Edit > Transform). Or, you can also select Edit > Transform > … select the operation you need. After the transformation process, you have to press Enter to commit or ESC to abort. There are also some buttons to do this in the option bar.
For myself, I always use the first one, Ctrl+T. I think it is much easier to use with some shortkeys. The Photoshop tutorial below will focus on the shortkeys that will came in handy and make the size/shape transformation faster.
