How to place a photo from other image

The other method to do this is by choose Select > All (Ctrl+A) on the source file, then choose Edit > Copy (Ctrl+C). Continuing choose Edit > Paste (Ctrl+V) on the target file. Just make sure that the source file only consists of one layer.
If the source file is made of multiple layers,
You can place the combined layer by select Edit > Copy Merged (Ctrl+Shift+C) instead of Edit > Copy.
You can place several layer by manually select the layers together and drag the layers into the target file.

Place only a proportion of image areas

If only a part of image that need to place to other file, we need to make a selection on the source file first. For example, in this image below, I need to place only the grass area. So I make a selection on the grass,

and drag the selection area in to the target file.

But be remembering to use the Move tool to drag. If you use any selection tool, you only get the selection border moved.
