If you need another lightning branches, you can repeat step 1 – 4 with a variation color shape in step 2.
Here is the result of lightning image tutorial that made in Photoshop CS4. I add a Filter > Render > Lighting Effects and adjust the color using Hue/Saturation.

i cant figur out how to make more than one lightning bolt on the same picture can you explain with better detail please? sorry im new at this just got the program like three days ago.
@James: It was written in step 6. When you have made another bolts (step 1-4), place all of them in one image (step 5).
So you need to work in several image files, one is for the background, and the others are for creating lightning ( make the step 1-4 in other image file ). All of that images should be opened in different tab window, so it will easier to drag (using move tool) from one images to another.
