Content Aware Scale, a New Transform Feature

In this Photoshop CS4 tutorial, I will write about Content Aware Scale. This is a new feature in Photoshop CS4 that capable of protecting some area in the size transform process. Content Aware Scale can select a part of image that important and need to be protected automatically. But this can only done in a simple image, for example like this one below.

If the image is complex and full of color, we have to determine which part of image that has to be protected.

This image below is an image sample from Photoshop CS3, since I don’t have enough photo stock to use, I will use this image in this tutorial.

Content Aware Scale can only be use in a non locked layer, so this Background layer has to be unlocked first. To do this, double click on the Background layer name, and click OK to make it as Layer 0.
