Using Mask Panel in Photoshop CS4
Sponsored LinksIn this Photoshop CS4 tutorial, we will use Mask Panel to separate a photo objects from it’s background. Mask Panel is a new feature in Photoshop CS4, can be use like using Layer mask in previous Photoshop version.
I use a Photoshop sample image, the eagle.psd. I will separate the eagle photo’s from the background, so it will be easy for us if we want to change it’s background.

Mask Panel has to main choice, whether we will use Layer Mask, or Vector Mask (I’ll write about vector mask in later post).
To make a layer mask in this image, I click on the Layer Mask button and this image will have layer mask thumbnail beside the original layer thumbnail.

There are 3 button in the middle of mask panel: Mask Edge, Color Range, and Invert.
