Using Mask Panel in Photoshop CS4
Sponsored LinksIf we need to adjust the mask opacity, smoothness, we can use Mask Edge in Photoshop CS4 Mask Panel.
Because I want to clean up a bit this mask manually, I select the Mask channel. This channel available in channel panel.

I stroke a brush with black and white color. White inside the eagle image, and black in all other. Be careful not to stroke in the edge of eagle photo.

For the edge of the eagle, I use Burn tool (set to Highlight in Range and lower opacity) and Dodge tool (set to Shadow in Range and also in lower opacity).

Now back to layer thumbnail, to make it easier for me to preview the result, I made a grey color layer and put it in below the eagle layer. This way I can see which part of it that I have to adjust more.
