Photoshop Tutorial-Water Reflection Photo Effect

The image we are working at will look like this photoshop tutorial illustration picture below.

Discard the selection by select Select > Deselect (Ctrl+D)

Step 8
Use the Photoshop Move tool to drag down the upper layer. This will be the watery reflection photo effect.

Drag this layer until it is reach the border to make the photo effects.

Step 9
We can adjust the reflection lightness, either darker or lighter. Best if we do this by using Levels Adjustment Layer. Clip this adjustment layer (note: red pointer) so this level will only affect the upper layer.

To make the Photoshop adjustment layer only visible in lower part, so the upper area still in original state, do this by using gradient tool (note: green pointer) for effect. Make a black and white linear gradient in vertical (note: red arrow). The Photoshop layer mask thumbnail has to be selected to make this gradient (note: yellow pointer) take effect.

Here is the result of this water reflection photo effect by using Photoshop.

Step 10
If you feel the image is too tall, you can shorten the layer size. And you can also add perspective look, like in this image below.

Here is the result if the reflection layer is shortened.

This effect will be better if you use on wide and landscape image.
