Photoshop Tutorial to Make Ripped Photo Effect

Step 4
Select Filter > Pixelate > Crystallize. Use 3 for Cell size.

Step 5
Click on the Load Channel as Selection icon.

You will get a selection on the image you are working now. After that, select the RGB channel. This will show up the original image.

Step 6
Select Edit > Copy, and then press Delete key on the keyboard.
Select Edit > Paste, and you will get your photo have been ripped into two part. They are in two separate layers.

Step 7
To add more ripped or torn apart paper looks, you can rotate one or both of that layer. To do this, is by select Edit > Free Transform.

    • @Horrible Tutorial: Would you like to describe the problem? I will gladly to help. Usually this tutorial is causing problem at step 7, in the inverting the selection process.
