Photoshop Tutorial of Dark Edge Border Photo Effects

Create a layer mask for the upper layer (the black one). You can make this layer mask photo effects by click the Add Layer Mask button. It is one of the buttons in Photoshop Layer Panel.

Reset the default swatches into black and white. You can do this by pressing D key or use the button at Photoshop toolbox. Select Gradient tool, use Foreground and Background color. You can see in the pictures below, I have marked them with red pointer. For the Gradient type: use the Radial gradient.
Click and drag the Gradient tool pointer from the center of the image. We need to make a gradient with black color in the center, and white color in the edge. If the gradient resulting white on the center and black on it surrounding, you can press X key and try making gradient again to make the photo effects.
