Patterned Line Photo Effect

In this Photoshop CS4 Tutorial, I will write about making a line patterned photo effects. A photo effect like this one is rather popular to make movie poster or something like that. I actually don’t know what is this effect name, so I just call it Line Patterned Photo Effect; base on the step of how to make it, the basic of this effect is a random line that blended in to the photo.

Photoshop Tutorial: Make Patterned Line Photo Effect

Step 1
Open your photo with Photoshop CS4. In this tutorial, I use a free photo from FreeDigitalPhotos.net.

Step 2
Select Image > Adjustment > Levels. Adjust the highlight and shadow triangle at Input levels like illustration image below. The goal is to make this photo very contrast.

You don’t have to do the same measurement like image above precisely, for different image may need different value.

Step 3
Duplicate this layer once. You can do it by press Ctrl + J or by drag the layer name to New layer icon at bottom of Layer panel.
